In an increasingly fragile world, when our systems and structures both secular and religious appear to be crumbling, Bea Denton's work examines our need for self-belief and our search for purpose in the Pandora's Box of contemporary culture.

The images here are part of a series of eight photographic prints derived from images found in the maelstrom of contemporary media that have then undergone a complex process of distillation and transformation. What is revealed is the emotion as icon, unhitched from its original context and held up as a mirror.
